Analogfish is a Japanese rock band formed in 1999 by 佐々木健太郎 and 下岡晃, both from 長野県下伊那郡喬木村. The group began performing in Tokyo in 2001 with support drums, and in 2002 斉藤州一郎 joined, establishing the band as a three-piece.
The band centers on the twin-vocal approach of 佐々木健太郎 and 下岡晃, with the lead vocal shifting according to who wrote the lyrics. Its songs combine melodic arrangements, energetic guitar work, rock fundamentals, and pop sensibility, while the lyrics focus on everyday emotions and personal relationships. Analogfish is also known for "Speed," which was used as the ending theme for Naruto.
Analogfish made its major debut in 2004 on Epic Records Japan, then returned to indie releases in 2008. On March 10, 2008, 斉藤州一郎 announced his departure to receive treatment for autonomic dysfunction. The band continued live activity with support members and recordings with guest drummers until he returned on October 10, 2009, at its 10th anniversary event.
