[Alexandros]

[Alexandros] is a Japanese j-rock band formed in 2001 and fronted by vocalist and guitarist Yohei Kawakami. The five-member lineup includes Masaki Shirai, Hiroyuki Isobe, Riad Ibu, and Soutai Shomura, and the group is known for combining energetic guitar-driven rock with melodic hooks and a polished, modern sound. Their style has kept them visible in Japan’s rock scene while also making their songs accessible to listeners who discover them through anime, film, and games. Originally active as [Champagne], the band changed its name to [Alexandros] in 2014 after a request from Bureau du Champagne, Japan. That transition marked a major step in their career, and they later signed with Universal Music Japan. Their 2015 single "Wataridori / Dracula la" helped establish the new name for a broader audience, and their 2016 SXSW Japan Nite showcase further extended their profile beyond Japan. [Alexandros] has also become closely associated with anime and other visual media. In 2018, "Mosquito Bite" was used as the theme for the live-action Bleach film, while "Arpeggio" and "Your Song" were contributed to Sega’s Judgment. More recently, the band released a cover version music video for "ENDROLL" tied to MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM HATHAWAY The Sorcery of Nymph Circe and shared an opening-song anime music video for Fist of the North Star: Hokuto no Ken in 2026, underscoring their ongoing relevance in anime music.
