He is known for his deep, authoritative voice and for work across anime, video games, film dubbing, and narration. Over several decades, he has become one of the most recognizable seiyuu in Japan, often cast in roles that call for gravitas, intensity, or a commanding presence.
In anime, Ootsuka is especially associated with major supporting and lead characters such as Batou in Ghost in the Shell, Black Jack in Black Jack, and All For One in My Hero Academia.
