Aki Maeda

Aki Maeda is a Japanese actress and singer born on July 11, 1985, in Tokyo City, Japan. Working under the name 前田亜季, she has built a career across film, television, and music, and her recording work has been associated with Warner Music Japan. Rather than staying in a single lane, Maeda has moved between screen performance and singing, which has kept her profile visible across different parts of Japanese entertainment. Maeda is best known internationally for her role in Battle Royale, the film that introduced her to a wider audience and remains the credit most often linked to her name. In 2025, Battle Royale returned for 25th-anniversary revival screenings, bringing renewed attention to the film and the performers associated with it. Outside that milestone, Maeda has continued to be recognized as a performer with both acting and music credits, and she is also the twin sister of Ai Maeda, another actress and singer. That family connection has often drawn interest from fans following both careers.
