In Wolf's Rain, a dying world is held together by the last traces of an ancient legend: when the end comes, a hidden paradise will open, but only wolves can find the path to it. To survive in a human world that no longer makes room for them, the remaining wolves conceal themselves behind elaborate illusions, moving unseen through ruined cities and barren wilderness.
Kiba is the first to follow the scent that seems to call him toward that promise, leading him to Freeze City, a bleak settlement ruled by the ruthless Lord Orkham. There he meets Hige, Tsume, and Toboe, three other wolves drawn by the same irresistible fragrance and the same desperate hope. Bound by the search for Lunar Flowers, said to hold the key to the door of their ideal world, the four set out across shattered landscapes and collapsing cities in pursuit of the promised land.
But Wolf's Rain is more than a simple pilgrimage. Paradise is only one destination among many, and other seekers are racing toward it as well, each willing to do whatever it takes to reach the legendary refuge before the world finally falls apart.
