Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi

This Monster Wants to Eat Me centers on Hinako, a high school girl living alone in a quiet seaside town, where rumors spread that her body is so delicious that it attracts monsters. Her fragile routine is shattered when Shiori, a mermaid who rises from the sea, takes her hand and promises to protect her until the time is right. Yet Shiori's protection is never simple kindness: she intends to guide Hinako toward her best possible form so that, one day, she can eat her. As the threat surrounding Hinako grows, the two are drawn into a tense and intimate bond built on fear, dependence, and a strange longing neither can fully deny. The story wraps their relationship in a haunting supernatural atmosphere, letting the constant shadow of danger reshape everyday life in the coastal town. What begins as an encounter between prey and predator slowly becomes a delicate, unsettling connection, as Hinako is forced to confront the fate waiting for her and the true nature of the mermaid who has chosen to stay by her side.
