In ViVid Strike!, Fuuka Reventon is a hard-edged girl who keeps getting into fights while trying to make a living. After gangsters leave her injured, martial arts champion Einhald Stratos finds her and takes her to a hospital. Einhald quickly recognizes Fuuka's raw talent and encourages her to pursue martial arts seriously, even offering her a job and a place to train at Nakajima Gym.
Fuuka initially turns the offer down because it brings back painful memories of her childhood friendship with Rinne Berlinetta. The two were once fellow orphans and close companions, but Rinne changed after being adopted by a wealthy family and beginning martial arts, becoming cold and cruel in the process. That betrayal leaves Fuuka with a clear goal: she wants to become strong enough to defeat Rinne and force her to understand how deeply her behavior has hurt her.
With little experience but plenty of determination, Fuuka begins training under Einhald. At Nakajima Gym, she finds support from Einhald and the other members, who believe her talent and stubborn resolve can carry her further than she expects.
