Isekai Ojisan begins when Takafumi Takaoka's uncle, Yousuke "Ojisan" Shibazaki, wakes from a 17-year coma caused by a truck accident. At first, Takafumi takes the old man's muttering about a strange language and a magical land called Gran Bahamal for the fantasies of someone who never fully returned to reality. Then Ojisan recites an incantation and makes a cup of water float in midair, proving that he really did spend those missing years in another world.
Once the shock wears off, Takafumi turns that impossible backstory into a YouTube channel built around Ojisan's magic and his stories from Gran Bahamal. Living together means dragging a lifelong SEGA fanatic through everything that changed during those 17 years: the internet, modern technology, new anime habits, and the painful result of the '90s console war. As the channel attracts comments, trolls, and curiosity, Takafumi also finds help and complications closer to home through Sumika Fujimiya, while Ojisan's memories keep circling back to figures from Gran Bahamal such as Mabel Laybelle, Alicia Edelcia, and the elf Suzailgiererzegalnelvzegilreagranzelga Elga. The series balances reverse-isekai comedy, family life, and the culture shock of navigating two very different worlds at once.
