In Thunder 3, three ordinary schoolboys get hold of a DVD that is said to open a gateway to a parallel universe. Before they can understand what they have found, Pyontarou's little sister Futaba slips through the opening and is kidnapped by the aliens that have taken over that version of Earth.
With Futaba missing, the boys are pulled into a rescue mission across a world that looks wrong to them in every way. Their cartoonish bodies, which seem ordinary at home, become an unexpected advantage in the hyper-realistic parallel universe, where they can act like supermen against enemies and dangers far beyond anything they expected. As they move through the alien-ruled landscape, they must rely on their strange physical advantage, their friendship, and their determination to bring Futaba back.
Thunder 3 combines science-fiction adventure and offbeat humor, using the clash between the boys' exaggerated forms and the harsh reality of the parallel Earth to drive a fast-moving story about survival, rescue, and the unsettling power of another world.
