Zero no Tsukaima

Zero no Tsukaima follows Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière, a proud young mage studying at Tristain Academy in a world of wands, cloaks, and royalty. Despite her status, Louise has one humiliating problem: she cannot cast magic properly, and her classmates have branded her "Louise the Zero" because of it. During the first-year summoning ritual, Louise's spell ends in a catastrophic explosion, and when the smoke clears she has summoned a boy named Saito Hiraga from another world. Saito becomes Louise's familiar, but his new role is anything but dignified: he is treated like a slave, forced to clean her clothes and even eat off the ground. When an unfamiliar brand appears on his hand after the ritual, it is identified as the mark of a powerful familiar known as Gandalfr. Wild, adventurous, and explosive, Zero no Tsukaima turns that disastrous meeting into an ongoing clash of pride, magic, and affection. As Saito comes to terms with his strange new life, Louise is pushed to prove that she is more than the nickname that follows her through Tristain Academy and beyond.
