Tennis no Ouji-sama

The Prince of Tennis follows Ryouma Echizen, a tennis prodigy who returns to Japan from America at his father’s request, determined to make his mark on the country’s courts. He enrolls at Seishun Academy, one of the strongest middle school tennis programs in Japan, and quickly draws attention when the captain notices his ability during the school’s ranking matches, even though he is only a freshman. At first, the rest of the Seishun Boys’ Tennis Team is reluctant to accept him, but Ryouma’s skill, confidence, and relentless drive gradually earn him a place on the team. Nicknamed their new super rookie, he joins a squad that believes it can reach the National Tournament and claim the title for itself. To get there, Seishun must battle through the Tokyo Prefectural and Kanto Regionals, where powerful schools challenge them with very different styles of play and fierce personal ambitions. As Ryouma and his teammates face rivals who test both their technique and their teamwork, they must learn to trust one another if they want to rise from promising contenders to true champions.
