At Tanenashi High School, Tejina-senpai centers on a first-year student who is looking for a club that will let him coast through school with as little effort as possible. While searching for the easiest place to spend his time, he wanders into the magic clubroom and meets a charming upperclassman who is practicing her tricks with earnest enthusiasm. She is clearly devoted to magic, but stage fright keeps sabotaging her performances, and every attempt to impress an audience tends to spiral into an embarrassing mishap.
What begins as a simple clubroom encounter quickly turns into a daily routine of awkward rehearsals, botched illusions, and accidental complications. The freshman, despite his lack of interest in joining a club led by such an inept magician, becomes a new member anyway and is gradually pulled into her chaotic world. His role as the straight man to her eccentric mentor creates much of the comedy, as the two stumble through situations that are equal parts teasing, panic, and reluctant teamwork.
Rather than relying on high-stakes drama, Tejina-senpai builds its appeal through a small cast, a single school setting, and a steady stream of short comedic moments. The result is a playful school comedy shaped by embarrassment, contrast, and the strange bond that grows between a lazy underclassman and the upperclassman who cannot quite keep her act together.
