Taiyou yori mo Mabushii Hoshi follows Sae and Koki, who have been friends since childhood, as a quiet shift in their relationship turns into something far more uncertain. At the end of middle school, Sae suddenly realizes that Koki has grown up; by the time they enter high school, that realization has become a very real crush. What was once a familiar friendship now feels fragile, and Sae has to navigate the awkwardness, hope, and hesitation that come with wanting someone who has always been close.
As Sae tries to understand her own feelings, she also has to face the possibility that she may not be the only girl looking at Koki differently. The series follows the push and pull between comfort and change, showing how a long-standing bond can become complicated when romance enters the picture. Taiyou yori mo Mabushii Hoshi captures the uncertainty of first love, the sting of jealousy, and the emotional risk of admitting what you feel before the moment slips away.
