Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii unfolds in a world split between the Sun Kingdom and the Rain Dukedom, two lands whose skies could not be more different. In the Sun Kingdom, sunlight never seems to fade and rain has become almost legendary, while the Rain Dukedom lives with the opposite gift: its people can summon rain with their voices. When Livius Orvinus Ifrikia, the young king who has conquered the world and expanded the Sun Kingdom’s influence in the three short years since he was crowned, learns of that gift, he demands that Nike Remercier, one of the Rain Dukedom’s princesses, be sent to his court as his bride.
What begins as a political marriage soon becomes a confrontation between rumor and reality. Beyond his own kingdom, Livius is feared as a cruel, ruthless tyrant, and Nike travels to meet him prepared for the worst. Instead, she finds a ruler far younger and more complicated than the monster she imagined. As the two are forced to share the same world, their relationship shifts from wary bargaining to genuine trust, set against rival kingdoms, uneasy diplomacy, and weather that seems to mirror the divide between power and vulnerability.
