Shimoneta

In Shimoneta, Japan has been remade under harsh morality laws that criminalize obscene language, suggestive behavior, and anything judged impure. Citizens wear devices around their necks to enforce public decency, and daily life is tightly controlled in the name of virtue. Tanukichi Okuma, the son of a notorious anti-chastity terrorist, enters high school hoping to get closer to Anna Nishikinomiya, his childhood friend and crush, who now serves as student council president. His plans collapse when vice president Ayame Kajou reveals that she is secretly Blue Snow, a masked agitator determined to overwhelm the sheltered public with lewd material. Because of his father's reputation, Tanukichi becomes a target for her attention and is drawn into SOX, the underground group dedicated to spreading obscene propaganda and challenging the government's suffocating order. As the school turns into SOX's first battleground, Tanukichi is forced into increasingly outrageous schemes, caught between his admiration for Anna and the chaotic world Ayame pulls him into, while the series builds its comedy around a moral war between public virtue and shameless rebellion.
