In Sekirei, Minato Sahashi is a bright but struggling 19-year-old who has failed his college entrance exams for the second time and is dismissed by the people around him as worthless. His ordinary life changes in an instant when Musubi, a beautiful supernatural woman, falls from the sky and lands in front of him.
Musubi is a Sekirei, a humanoid extraterrestrial with extraordinary abilities, and she immediately senses something special in the seemingly ordinary young man. After kissing Minato, she awakens the bond between them and draws him into the hidden world of the Sekirei, where humans carrying the Ashikabi gene can unlock additional latent powers through their partners. What begins as a bewildering encounter soon becomes a dangerous struggle for survival. Minato and Musubi are forced into the Sekirei Plan, a ruthless competition in which paired fighters must endure escalating conflicts and outlast the other couples. As Minato learns how the contest really works, he discovers that every alliance, confrontation, and choice can alter the balance of power, and that the stakes are far greater than he first imagined.
