Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance

Blade Dance of the Elementalers follows Kamito Kazehaya when he arrives at Areishia Spirit Academy and collides with Claire Rouge, a shrine maiden-in-training who is in the middle of a purification bath before attempting to contract a powerful spirit. In the chaos, Kamito ends up bound to the spirit Claire was supposed to claim, even though only shrine maidens can become elementalists. Furious at the accident, Claire decides that Kamito must become her contracted spirit instead, and the two are forced into a prickly partnership shaped by rivalry, pride, and the strange rules of a world where spirit contracts define status and power. On the academy grounds, Kamito escapes Claire long enough to meet Headmaster Greyworth Ciel Mais, who offers him a place among the shrine princesses-in-training. He reluctantly accepts in exchange for information about his former contracted spirit, Restia Ashdoll, but the price is steep: he must win the Blade Dance, the battle festival set two months away. To do that, he will need to survive the academy’s politics, the harsh training of its students, and the threat posed by the strongest elementalist, who is rumored to be contracted with a darkness spirit.
