In Sankarea, Chihiro Furuya is a high school student whose fascination with the undead goes far beyond ordinary curiosity: he dreams of having a zombie girlfriend. When his beloved cat, Baabu, dies, Chihiro throws himself into finding a way to bring the animal back to life, and his search leads him to a resurrection potion and to Rea Sanka, a wealthy girl trapped in a stifling home life.
