Samurai 7

Samurai 7 unfolds on a distant future planet that may once have been Earth, where samurai have mechanically enhanced their bodies and a hard-won peace has settled after a devastating war. That peace shatters for the people of Kanna Village when mechanized bandits known as the Nobuseri begin stealing food and abducting villagers, leaving the farmers on the brink of starvation. With little to offer beyond rice from their meager harvests, Kirara, the village's water priestess, her younger sister Komachi, and the grief-stricken villager Rikichi set out to find samurai willing to defend them. Their search leads them through dangerous encounters and narrow escapes before seven samurai of different specialties and experience are gathered to stand between the village and the Nobuseri. As Samurai 7 builds toward an epic battle, the villagers' struggle also exposes the merchants who support and profit from the bandits' violence. Loosely based on Akira Kurosawa's famous film Seven Samurai (Shichinin no Samurai), the series blends a classic defense-of-the-village premise with a futuristic setting, turning themes of survival, loyalty, and collective resistance into a large-scale conflict between Kanna Village, its hired swords, and the forces backing the mechanized raiders.
