Reincarnation no Kaben

Petals of Reincarnation follows Touya Senji, a high school student who has spent years living in the shadow of a gifted older brother and believing that talent is something other people are simply born with. That sense of frustration defines his ordinary days, until he learns of the Branch of Reincarnation, a strange object that can awaken the talents of a person’s past lives, but only at the cost of slitting one’s own throat. Once Touya crosses paths with his classmate Haito Luo Buffett, a Returner who has already reclaimed the abilities of a former existence, his life is pulled into a hidden world where power is never free and every advantage comes with a brutal price. Haito’s battles against a serial killer reveal just how dangerous that world can be, while rival users of the Branch clash over the right to claim the strengths of their past selves. As Touya is forced to watch other people seize the gifts he has always envied, he must confront his own limits, question what talent really means, and decide whether inherited power can finally give his life meaning.
