Piano no Mori centers on Kai, a boy born as the son of a prostitute, who has spent his childhood playing the abandoned piano hidden in the forest near his home. The instrument becomes his secret refuge, a place where his instinctive talent can take shape away from judgment and the hardships of his everyday life. Across town, Syuhei grows up in the opposite world: he is the son of a family of distinguished pianists and has been surrounded by music for as long as he can remember, almost as if he was raised with the piano itself.
Though their upbringings could hardly be more different, Kai and Syuhei are drawn together by their shared connection to the instrument. As their paths begin to overlap, each boy is forced to confront what music means to him, how far natural gift can take him, and what it really means to live for the piano. Piano no Mori follows their bond as it shapes their future, linking a hidden forest, a privileged musical household, and two lives that seem destined to meet through melody.
