Patlabor EZY is a new animation project in the Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor franchise, returning to a near-future Japan where giant working robots, known as Labors, are part of everyday infrastructure and a constant source of trouble when machines fail, are misused, or threaten public safety. The franchise centers on the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Special Vehicles Section 2, the unruly police unit responsible for handling Labor-related incidents that ordinary patrol officers cannot control.
Across the Patlabor line, mechanical realism sits alongside workplace comedy and police procedural drama, with the team's officers and pilots forced to balance routine calls, technical problems, and high-pressure emergencies. Best-known figures such as Noa Izumi and her AV-98 Ingram, Alphonse, anchor that world, while the rest of SV2 keeps the story grounded in camaraderie, friction, and improvisation. EZY continues that tradition as a fresh entry, carrying forward the series' mix of urban action, ensemble dynamics, and detailed mecha policing.
