Noragami centers on Yato, a minor deity who calls himself the "Delivery God" and dreams of building a shrine, gathering millions of worshippers, and finally being remembered by the world. With no shrine dedicated to his name, he takes odd jobs for five yen at a time, clinging to the hope that enough small acts will earn him a place among the gods. But the weapon partner who stands at his side grows weary of serving a god with no luck and eventually deserts him.
Everything changes when Hiyori Iki, a middle school girl, saves Yato from a car accident and is left with her soul loosened, allowing it to slip out of her body. Hiyori demands that he return her to normal, yet when she learns that he needs a new partner to do so, she reluctantly agrees to help him search for one. That decision pulls her into Yato’s strange, dangerous world and binds her to him far more tightly than she expects.
Across the Noragami franchise, that unlikely bond draws Yato, Hiyori, and the people tied to them into the fragile balance between gods, spirits, and the human world. The series blends supernatural action, comedy, and drama as Yato fights for recognition, Hiyori searches for a way back to an ordinary life, and the uneasy partnerships around them reveal how precarious that balance really is.
