Mnemosyne centers on Rin Asougi, an immortal private investigator who has survived countless brutal deaths across the centuries and always returns to life, as if death itself cannot hold her. That power makes her difficult to kill, but it also turns her into a constant target, leaving her with enemies who never stop coming after her and a life shaped by danger, memory, and repetition.
In 1990, Rin takes on what seems like a simple job while searching for a lost cat, and the case leads her to Kouki Maeno, a man who believes his memories are wrong. She agrees to help him, only to learn that Kouki is hiding a far stranger truth and that their meeting is drawing her closer to the force behind the attacks on her life. The adversary pursuing Rin knows her and her kind all too well, and the danger becomes terrifyingly specific: if Rin dies by his hand, she may remain dead for good. What begins as a small investigation soon turns into a deadly confrontation with the powers that have hunted her for ages.
