Marika-chan no Koukando wa Bukkowareteiru centers on an unpopular boy who finally gathers the courage to confess to his childhood friend Marika, only to be thrown into a situation he can barely explain. After wishing on a shooting star, he wakes up with a strange new ability: he can see a hidden love meter floating above people, as if real life had turned into a dating sim. When he looks at Marika, the meter is so low that it seems completely broken, even though her behavior toward him is still warm, attentive, and impossible to read.
That contradiction leaves him desperate to know whether the reading reflects her true feelings or just his own bad luck. As he tests the limits of his new power, every conversation with Marika turns into an awkward exchange full of hope, embarrassment, and second chances. Marika-chan no Koukando wa Bukkowareteiru turns that uncertainty into its central conflict, asking whether love can survive bad timing, mixed signals, and a heart that refuses to make sense.
