Kono Oto Tomare!

Kono Oto Tomare! follows Chika Kudou, a delinquent who carries the memory of his late grandfather and the unfinished meaning of the koto, the traditional Japanese string instrument made by Gen Kudou. Wanting to understand the words his grandfather left behind, Chika decides to join the Tokise High School Koto Club, even though the club is struggling to stay alive and his reputation makes him an unlikely recruit. Club president Takezou Kurata initially resists taking him in, but Chika's sincerity and determination slowly change his mind. The balance shifts again when Satowa Houzuki, a koto prodigy with exceptional talent, becomes part of the group, and three of Chika's energetic friends add even more momentum to the club. Together, they have to learn discipline, trust, and the patience required to play as an ensemble rather than as separate individuals. Through rehearsals, setbacks, and the pressure of competition, Kono Oto Tomare! builds a story about music as a shared language. The series follows the Tokise High School Koto Club as they try to grow into a true team and aim for the national competition, discovering that the koto can connect people who might otherwise never understand one another.
