In Sugomori City, Kiznaiver follows Katsuhira Agata, a reserved teenager who can no longer feel pain. His numbness has left him emotionally detached from the world and an easy target for bullies, while his childhood friend Chidori Takashiro still remembers the boy he used to be. Their lives are upended when Katsuhira, Chidori, Hajime Tenga, Nico Niiyama, Tsuguhito Yuta, and Honoka Maki are abducted and drawn into an experiment overseen by Noriko Sonozaki: the Kizuna System. As Kiznaivers, they are bound to share one another's pain, so any injury suffered by one is divided among them all.
What begins as a strange scientific experiment becomes a fragile test of trust, empathy, and friendship. The mismatched group is pushed into situations that expose how little they understand one another, forcing them to confront the insecurities and loneliness that have kept them apart. As they struggle to make sense of the system, its rules, and the ideal of world peace it was designed to support, their connection turns shared wounds into shared responsibility. Kiznaiver builds its drama around whether pain can create genuine understanding and whether these teenagers can be changed by a bond they never chose.
