Kimikiss pure rouge follows Kouichi Sanada and Kazuki Aihara when their childhood friend Mao Mizusawa returns from France after spending a couple of years abroad. Kouichi is startled to learn that, with Mao's parents still staying overseas for the time being, she will be living in his family home. The arrangement pulls the three back into the everyday rhythm they once shared, but high school life no longer feels as simple as it did before. Distance and time have changed their bond, and familiar habits begin to take on a different meaning once romantic feelings enter the picture.
The story widens beyond that trio into an ensemble romance that also brings Eiji Kai, Yuumi Hoshino, Eriko Futami, and Asuka Sakino into the emotional center of the series. As classes, after-school encounters, and life at home continue, misunderstandings, quiet hesitations, and difficult choices test friendships that once seemed secure. Ordinary days, old promises, and feelings that are hard to say out loud shape a grounded portrait of adolescence, where closeness can turn uncertain and growing up means deciding whether love can survive the risk of changing what matters most.
