The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You follows Rentarou Aijou, a boy blessed with looks, intelligence, athletic skill, and popularity with peers and mentors alike, but cursed with a love life that never seems to go anywhere. On the day of his middle school graduation, he is rejected by a girl he confesses to for the hundredth time, and in despair he visits a matchmaking shrine and wishes for a girlfriend in high school. When the god of the shrine suddenly appears before him, Rentarou is told that he will meet an astronomical total of one hundred soulmates during high school. At first, he cannot take the prophecy seriously, but his doubts vanish on the first day of school, when he meets two of those destined partners—Hakari Hanazono and Karane Inda—who both confess to him. As fated encounters pile up and love confessions come faster than he can process them, Rentarou’s school life turns into an escalating romantic comedy built on sincerity, chaos, and impossible odds. With each new soulmate, he is pulled deeper into a story of competing affections and heartfelt promises that keeps raising the stakes for everyone involved.
