Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai follows Kaya-chan, a kindergarten child whose chaotic reputation has already made her infamous among the staff and other children. When Ms. Chie is assigned to watch over her, she quickly learns that the trouble Kaya causes is only the surface of something far stranger. Behind the unruly behavior is a girl whose unusual abilities can turn the most ordinary preschool routines into situations that feel eerie, unpredictable, and dangerous.
Set almost entirely inside the everyday world of the preschool, Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai turns games, supervision, and classroom order into a constant test of nerves. Every normal moment can become a source of tension, and every attempt to keep things under control is complicated by Kaya-chan's impossible-to-read behavior. As Ms. Chie tries to make sense of Kaya-chan and keep the other children safe, she is drawn deeper into a horror-tinged action series built around mystery as much as mischief.
At its core, the story is the relationship between teacher and child: one struggling to maintain calm, the other remaining difficult to understand. What starts as a straightforward assignment gradually becomes a tense effort to understand what Kaya-chan can really do, while the series keeps its mischievous kindergarten backdrop and its mix of fear, suspense, and action.
