Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudou

In Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudou, Yukito Urabe is raised to believe that the omnipotent god Mitama will one day answer his family's prayers and save him. Hoping to inherit leadership of his father's cult, he takes part in a ritual meant to name him the new head of the sect. The ceremony goes horribly wrong when Yukito drowns, but his death becomes the first step toward the life he really wanted: he awakens in another world, one stripped of gods, temples, and any familiar notion of religion. There, Yukito meets Aruaru, an unusual girl who brings him to her village and briefly lets him imagine that this strange land might still offer peace. That hope collapses when he witnesses a public mass suicide and learns of the country's brutal end-of-life system, under which the government can order citizens to die at any moment. When Aruaru and her sister are seized for execution, Yukito tries to save them, only to fail. In desperation, he falls back on the teachings of his father and prays for Mitama to intervene. Answering that prayer, a little girl descends from the sky and wipes out everyone responsible, introducing herself to a stunned Yukito as Mitama herself. What follows is a chaotic struggle to survive, spread faith in a godless world, and turn divine miracles into a force strong enough to challenge the system that rules it.
