Kakushigoto follows Kakushi Gotou, a somewhat popular manga artist whose work is known for its inappropriate content. In Kakushigoto, he makes one desperate promise when his daughter Hime is born: she must never learn that he draws raunchy manga, because he fears she will be disillusioned if she discovers the truth about his job.
That fear turns everyday life into a constant scramble. Although he is raising Hime alone, Kakushi does everything he can to keep his secret intact, from disguising himself as a salaryman every day to running emergency drills in case Hime ever wanders into his workplace. His efforts are absurd, frantic, and often over the top, yet they come from the same place: a father trying to protect his daughter and the peaceful world they share.
The series is an intimate story of a father and daughter living side by side, preserving an ordinary happiness built on omission. But time has a way of uncovering hidden things, and Hime will eventually have to face the reality behind everything she took for granted as she grows up.
