Kaizoku Oujo opens with Fena Houtman, whose life was shattered ten years earlier by a shipwreck that killed her father and separated her from her childhood friend Yukimaru. Raised on an island where her future has been reduced to exploitation, she makes a desperate escape on the night she is meant to be handed over to a client. That flight pulls two old acquaintances back into her orbit and sets her on a course for Goblin Island, a mysterious refuge where a clan of fierce warriors lives and where the truth behind her father’s final voyage begins to surface.
At the center of that mystery is Eden, the place her father had been searching for and something important he swore to protect. Fena also carries a clear crystal that marks her as the one person able to find it. When she reunites with Yukimaru, he urges her to keep going, and Fena steps into the role of captain of a seven-person crew heading across dangerous seas. As uncanny groups close in and the hunt for Eden grows more perilous, she must rely on her wits, her crew, and the bond she shares with Yukimaru to survive the journey.
