In Joukamachi no Dandelion, the Sakurada siblings try to live the kind of ordinary life most children take for granted, even though their father, the king, insists on something far more unusual. As members of the royal family, each of the nine siblings possesses a unique ability, and the town has been fitted with more than two thousand security cameras to keep them safe. Every one of them has also been named a possible heir to the throne, with the next ruler to be chosen through an election rather than simple inheritance.
For Akane Sakurada, the timid third eldest daughter who can manipulate gravity, that constant attention is a nightmare. The cameras watch her every move, and even her family's daily life is broadcast on a Sakurada-dedicated news channel. If she ever becomes king, she is determined to get rid of the surveillance altogether, but doing so means she must first convince the public that she is fit to rule. With election season underway, Akane must battle her own shyness as much as her rivals in a search for the next king that turns the whole town into a political stage.
