Ikkitousen is set in the Kanto region, where seven high schools wage a relentless struggle for power through martial arts battles. What looks like a contest between delinquent schools is tied to a deeper legend: many of the fighters are reincarnations of warriors from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and their inherited destinies shape the way they clash, ally, and fall under pressure.
At the center of the franchise is Hakufu Sonsaku of Nanyou Academy, a gifted but impulsive fighter whose strength can become a liability whenever she loses control. She is supported by her cousin Koukin Shuuyu and by Nanyou's Big Four, yet that protection is never enough to keep the conflict at bay. As rival schools keep colliding and alliances shift from one confrontation to the next, Hakufu is drawn further into a struggle that tests her discipline, her loyalty, and her resolve. Across the series, the battles in Kanto grow more personal and more dangerous, while the shadow of fate continues to press in on Hakufu and the people fighting beside her.
