Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu

Middle school begins like a disaster for Bocchi Hitori in Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu. After leaving elementary school behind, she arrives with almost no confidence and no friends by her side, and even a simple introduction can overwhelm her. Bocchi's social anxiety is so severe that she faints under pressure, vomits when she gets nervous, and invents ridiculously convoluted plans whenever social contact feels unavoidable. The situation grows even harder when her only friend from elementary school, Kai Yawara, ends up at a different school and cuts ties for the time being, promising that they can reconcile only after Bocchi has befriended every classmate in her new middle school class. That demand leaves Bocchi facing an impossible goal, but also gives her a reason to keep moving forward. With barely any confidence to lean on, she starts the awkward work of approaching one classmate at a time, beginning with the delinquent-looking girl sitting in front of her, Nako Sunao. As Bocchi's circle slowly expands to include the unfortunate but earnest Aru Honshou and the eccentric foreign ninja enthusiast Sotoka Rakita, the series turns a painfully ordinary first-year struggle into a gentle comedy about anxiety, persistence, and the small victories that slowly turn strangers into friends.
