In Hitoribocchi no Isekai Kouryaku, high school student Haruka has always been a content loner, so when he and his class are abruptly transported to another world, he is less troubled by the prospect of going it alone than most of his classmates. A God gives the class skill points to spend on an assortment of abilities and magical powers, but Haruka arrives last and finds that the valuable options are already gone. Left with the seemingly impractical abilities the others had no interest in—and saddled with the "Loner" skill—he must adjust to his new life by himself, which suits him just fine.
Haruka's peaceful solitude is short-lived. As he makes his way through the unfamiliar world on his own again, he runs into some of his classmates and proves too soft-hearted to ignore their pleas for help. He ends up sheltering them and helping them reunite with the others, only to discover that the class has carried its old divisions into this new realm. With different cliques struggling to see eye to eye, Haruka is forced into an unwanted mediating role, trying to end the infighting and restore enough harmony for everyone to survive.
