In Girls Band Cry, Nina Iseri is a 17-year-old who arrives in Tokyo determined to win a place at a good university, only to have her first days in the city unravel into one setback after another. She gets lost, is brushed aside by the people around her, and even ends up locked out of her new apartment, stranded at the exact moment she needs help the most. At her lowest point, she meets Momoka Kawaragi, one of her favorite guitarists, and that encounter quietly redirects the course of her life.
After joining Momoka for a street performance, Nina is drawn toward the idea of forming a band. She hesitates at first, but the group gradually comes together around the beautiful drummer Subaru Awa, the aloof keyboardist Tomo Ebizuka, and the intelligent bassist Rupa. What begins as an unlikely collaboration becomes a shared effort to protect a dream that feels fragile, urgent, and deeply personal. As Girls Band Cry unfolds, the five girls have to deal with the pressures of the music industry, the personal struggles each of them carries, and the harder reality of staying united while still trying to move forward. Through rehearsals, clashes, and performances, music becomes the place where they can confront what they have lost, trust one another, and keep going.
