Legend of the Galactic Heroes spans a vast, war-torn galaxy that has been divided for more than a century between the autocratic Galactic Empire and the democratic Free Planets Alliance. As the stalemate finally begins to crack, two extraordinary commanders rise to shape the fate of both nations: Reinhard von Lohengramm, a young imperial prodigy determined to sweep away a corrupt old order, and Yang Wenli, a reluctant strategist and historian who keeps faith in democracy even as it weakens around him. With Siegfried Kircheis at Reinhard's side and Julian Mintz learning from Yang, Legend of the Galactic Heroes moves through fleet battles, coups, court intrigue, and battlefield genius while keeping its focus on the clash of ideologies. Across the long conflict, both men are forced to confront the cost of ambition, the fragility of their governments, and the possibility that victory may demand more than either side is willing to give. The series treats military strategy and political pressure as inseparable, showing how every decision on the front lines reverberates through the halls of power and across the lives of those who serve under them.
