Excel Saga turns the absurd dream of world domination into a nonstop spiral of disasters. In Excel Saga, the enigmatic Il Palazzo, head of the ACROSS organization, decides that conquering the world begins with something far more manageable: taking over the city of Fukuoka. To carry out the plan, he assigns two young officers, Excel and her partner Hyatt, but their missions rarely go as intended.
Standing against ACROSS is the City Security team, a group made up of three mostly normal guys, a very severe girl, and some robots, all trying to keep the city together while Excel and Hyatt lurch from one assignment to the next. No matter how straightforward the objective, the duo always manages to do their jobs improperly, and the results usually end in death, destruction, and even more chaos than before. The series follows the elaborate troubles that ACROSS keeps stumbling into, building its comedy around failed schemes, escalating mishaps, and the impossible task of keeping Fukuoka under control.
