Citrus follows Yuzu Aihara, a fashionable and impulsive high school student whose life is overturned when her mother remarries and she is forced to transfer to a strict all-girls academy. Used to a louder, more carefree daily routine, Yuzu immediately collides with the school’s rigid rules and with Mei Aihara, the severe student council president who treats discipline as nonnegotiable and soon becomes her new step-sister.
Forced to share the same home, Yuzu and Mei live in constant proximity, where family obligations, school pressure, and feelings neither of them fully understands begin to overlap. Yuzu’s outgoing, spontaneous personality runs headfirst into Mei’s controlled and distant manner, turning ordinary moments into awkward confrontations, tense silences, and small acts that mean more than either girl wants to admit. As they adjust to their new family arrangement and the demands of academy life, Citrus traces the slow, fragile shift from rivalry and obligation toward a first love that neither girl can easily name or ignore.
