Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm unfolds in a world where anti-gravity footwear called Grav-Shoes has made flight part of everyday life across a four-island archipelago south of Japan. Out of that technology grew Flying Circus, a competitive sport in which players score by striking floating buoys or landing a hit on an opponent’s back.
When the clumsy and trusting Asuka Kurashina transfers to Kunahama High School, she stumbles into that airborne culture almost by accident. Her first Flying Circus match reveals an unexpected talent for a difficult maneuver, and the result pulls her into the school’s Flying Circus club. Under the guidance of coach Masaya Hinata, Asuka trains alongside the experienced Misaki Tobisawa and Misaki’s overprotective friend, Mashiro Arisaka, as the group learns to balance teamwork, rivalry, and the demands of a sport built on speed and precision.
Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm follows this rookie team as they chase their ambitions high above the islands, relying on determination, trust, and the thrill of flight while facing an uncertain future.
