7 Seeds begins when Natsu Iwashimizu, a shy high school girl, wakes up in a strange new world after a violent storm leaves her trapped on a rapidly sinking boat with five strangers, cut off from the life she knew. The place around them is not an unknown island or an isolated disaster zone, but the aftermath of a future in which humanity has already perished after a catastrophe devastated Earth. Long before the collapse, world leaders planned for survival, and the Japanese government created the Seven Seeds project, dividing selected men and women into Winter, Spring, Summer A, Summer B, and Fall teams that would be sent into the future once the planet became livable again. Each group is meant to reach one of the prepared “Seven Fuji” shelters, where seeds, books, and supplies can help them rebuild.
Natsu was never one of the people chosen for practical talents like martial arts, specialized knowledge, or architecture. She is timid, easily overwhelmed, and can barely raise her voice to shout, yet the hostile landscape gives her no choice but to keep moving with the others. As survivors such as Ango, Arashi Aota, Hana Suguruno, and Takahiro Aramaki struggle through the same ruined world, the series broadens beyond one team to show clashing personalities, guides burdened with life-or-death responsibility, and groups forced to choose between mistrust and cooperation. Their route toward the “Seven Fuji” turns survival into a test of endurance in a post-apocalyptic world filled with danger, uncertainty, and the weight of carrying humanity’s last hope forward.
