100-man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatteiru

100-man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatteiru centers on Yuusuke Yotsuya, a teenager who has grown disillusioned with Tokyo and the people around him, preferring the certainty of a virtual world to the messiness of real relationships. After school one day, he spots the popular athlete Iu Shindou speaking with Kusue Hakozaki, a student whose illness keeps her out of school far more often than others, but when he looks back, both of them have vanished without explanation. Moments later, Yotsuya is dragged into free-fall as reality bends around him, and he crashes into a pool of water surrounded by gigantic monsters. There, he learns that Shindou and Hakozaki have also been brought into a game-like world, and that the three must complete a quest within 14 days if they want to survive. Efficiency matters more to Yotsuya than camaraderie, yet the strange world gives them no room to work alone. One brutal rule separates this place from reality: anyone who dies returns after 30 seconds, as long as at least one party member is still alive. As Yotsuya, Shindou, and Hakozaki face increasingly dangerous quests, their party later expands with Yuka Tokitate, and each mission reveals more about the merciless system governing the world itself. The series follows their repeated struggle across deadly game-like scenarios, where survival depends on balancing cold calculation, fragile trust, and the will to uncover the secret behind the world that controls them.
