Birthplace: Saitama Prefecture, Japan Height: 158 cm Blood Type: O Nickname: Manati (マナティ) Hobbies: taking a walk, reading Special Skills: tuba, moving her ears Manaka Iwami was inspired to become a voice actress after witnessing Ai Kayano's performance in "Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai" during her middle school years. Growing up, Iwami was not very articulate, which led her to believe she needed to start her voice acting training earlier than others to become a professional. She convinced her father to let her attend a voice acting school, insisting that she wouldn't go to high school otherwise. In 2016, Iwami was chosen through an audition to voice the lead character Maquia in "Sayonara no Asa ni Yakusoku no Hana wo Kazarou." This film marks the directorial debut of Mari Okada, who also wrote the aforementioned "AnoHana" series. Coincidentally, "SayoAsa" features Ai Kayano in a supporting role, creating a serendipitous encounter between Iwami and her idol. Although selected for "SayoAsa," the film did not release in theaters until 2018. Instead, Iwami made her screen debut in 2017 with the television series "Tsuki ga Kirei."
